MCTX Sheriff Makes Arrest After Shooting in Porter

PORTER, TX -- On December 4, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., MCTXSheriff deputies responded to a local emergency room after a 40-year-old male was admitted with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The investigation revealed that the shooting resulted from an altercation over a narcotics deal.

Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the scene to conduct their investigation. District 3 Patrol units quickly identified the suspect and located him at his home, where he was arrested with the assistance of the Montgomery County Constable’s Precinct 4. The suspect, 18-year-old Jason Andrew Knight from Porter, is now in the Montgomery County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Currently, the victim, a 40-year-old white male from New Caney, is in stable condition at a local hospital
