UPDATED: Heavy Sheriff presence at 26000 block of Aberdeen Drive, Magnolia, TX in Officer Involved Shooting
UPDATE 10:25 a.m. -- On December 11, 2024 at about 4:45 am, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at the 26000 block of Aberdeen Drive, Magnolia, Texas. The caller stated that there was a disturbance between family members. Upon arrival, Deputies encountered a male subject who refused to follow verbal commands and began to resist arrest, striking the Deputy, causing significant injury to his face. The Deputy stepped back after being punched and deployed his tazer to gain compliance but it was unsuccessful. A second Deputy tried to detain the male, who actively attempted to grab his firearm. Fearing for their safety, the Deputy who had been punched discharged his firearm, striking the male. Deputies then provided life saving measures until EMS arrived. The Deputy and the suspect were both transported to a local hospital where the suspect succumbed to his injuries. The Deputy was treated for his injuries and has been released.
Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit along with Crime Scene Investigators are on scene.
The shooting is being investigated by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with a parallel investigation from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
The identity of the male is not being released at this time in order to give next of kin time to notify additional family.
