THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Six talented students from The John Cooper School proudly represented their school at the highly competitive SCI://TECH Math Bowl, showcasing their problem-solving skills against students from across Conroe ISD.

Cooper Dragons Triumph in Math Bowl

The SCI://TECH Math Bowl is a competitive single-elimination mathematics tournament that brings together students from across Conroe Independent School District (CISD) to test their problem-solving skills in a fast-paced format. Cooper students demonstrated outstanding performance, with three earning top honors:

Hailey Mayo ’26 secured a spot on the third-place team

Sean Mallik ‘26 was part of the second-place team

Yohan Vaz ‘27 helped lead their team to first place victory

“You might think it’s a hard sell to get students to wake up early on a Saturday and do a couple of hours of math, but not these Cooper Dragons! They end up having a blast and getting really into the competition,” said Aaron Smith, Upper School Mathematics Department Chair.

Challenging academic events like these help our faculty and students foster a strong culture of learning, encouraging students to embrace challenges and excel in academic competitions. Congratulations to all participants for their exceptional efforts!
