THE WOODLANDS, TX – The May Joint Election Day is going to be held next Tuesday, May 5. But early voting – which started last Tuesday – is still in effect until 7 o’clock this evening.

Add your ballot to the 4,000 already cast

So far, 3,861 people have headed out to the ten polling locations in Montgomery County, with an additional 321 ballots cast by mail, making for a total of 4,182 votes. With an excess of 430,000 registered voters in the county, this marks a one percent voter turnout.

Of particular note on the ballot is the proposed $480 million road bond that, if passed, will fund 76 infrastructure projects across the four commissioner precincts. These projects include widening existing roads, extending roadways, reconstructing roads, adding traffic signals, and performing bridge replacements. The bond will also cover engineering and environmental studies for future projects

Additionally, there will be numerous school district trustee and proposition selections, city council and mayoral elections, MUD directors and propositions, and municipal propositions, depending on your residential address.

Benefits for early voting include the fact that you can vote at any of the assigned polling locations in Montgomery County; on Election Day itself you are limited to casting your ballot at your own precinct polling location. As long as you are in line at any of the county polling locations by 7:00 p.m., you will be allowed to vote early; otherwise, you will have to wait until next Tuesday at your precinct location.
