WOODLANDS WEATHER THIS WEEK – July 5 - 7, 2023 – Short, sweet, and sweltering
THE WOODLANDS, TX – It’s a shorter Woodlands Online Weekly Weather report, because it’s a shorter week thanks to the Independence Day celebrations. However, what we lack in days covered, we more than make up for with unusual weather patterns.
Independence Week doesn’t bring any freedom from either heat or storm
Storm clouds are already brewing today, and early this afternoon we’re going to get a sudden surge of rain and wind with a thunderstorm blasting through to dump about half an inch of the wet stuff in just a few minutes. Trust us when we say that you’ll want to be indoors between lunchtime and quitting time today. Our relatively low dew point will help keep the high temperature at a manageable 93 degrees, but with the storm will come a significant drop in temperature, and within moments we’ll be down into the 80s. The clouds and moderate chances of rain will stick around all night, lulling us to sleep as we hit a low of 77.
Thursday will see some more scattered thunderstorms under massively cloudy skies. Miraculously, we’ll maintain a high in the upper 80s, keeping us out of the ‘feels-like’ heat index hundreds for the first time in what seems like weeks. Around bedtime, we’ll actually be down into the 70s again, a coolness bolstered by winds reaching up to 10 mph. As we overnight from Thursday into Friday, the chances of additional rain will drop – as will the cloud coverage and the winds – for a quiet night.
On Friday morning, the pressure front will continue to drop, and we’ll get some brighter weather with cooler temps. We’ll be slow to hit our afternoon high of 93 – around 4 p.m. – and mild chances of rains combined with 50 percent cloud cover and rising winds will make for a glorious summer day that isn’t quite as life-threatening as it’s been over the past couple of weeks. As you hit the hay Friday night, rest assured you’ll be waking up to a weekend that will be warm but not nearly as blistering…
Stay tuned on Friday as we bring you Woodlands Weekend Weather.
