THE WOODLANDS, TX – We here at the Woodlands Online Weather offices hope you enjoyed our relatively frigid weather this past week where the highs never got out of the 90s. Those Arctic days are gone – or they will be by Sunday – for a while, so we hope you enjoyed the fur coat weather when you had the chance.

We’ll be back in the 100s by the end of the weekend

At around four o’clock this afternoon, we’ll hit our natural high of 97, with a low humidity and low pressure front helping to keep the heat index just a few degrees hotter. Around sundown we’ll be back into the 80s, and right around the same time the pressure and humidity will both rise, waiting for a combustible connection with the sun tomorrow morning. You can keep active inside AC’d comfort at Condition 1’s Veterans Night. Late into the night, we'll hit our low of 74, so take this opportunity to replace the air conditioner with ceiling fans for a night to give your electric bill a break.

Saturday will start seriously warming up just as soon as the sun rises. We’ll be back into the 90s by lunchtime, but some afternoon winds from the south and some creeping cloud coverage will help keep things manageable as we hit our afternoon high of 99. It’ll get more bearable as the afternoon segues to night, so enjoy a final evening outdoors at the Pavilion as the Steve Miller Band takes the stage. As you prepare to hit the hay for the night, see if you can go another overnight without the AC unit running, because even though the low will be 75, the next day will bring the heat.

Sunday will see very few clouds under our mostly sunny skies. Even before we hit 11 a.m., the ‘feels-like’ heat index temperature will hit 100, and even the real high of 101 will be right on its heels. What winds there may be will be light – only about 3 or 4 mph – and our overnight low of 76 will offer scant relief from an upcoming week that will once again not see double digits for the highs for several days to come. The only cool relief from the heat today will have to be artificially induced, so head over to Sawyer Park Ice House for their Christmas in July Foam party, complete with shaved ice in the air.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
