MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Law Enforcement and Schools Investigate Threats The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is aware of messages circulating on social media regarding potential threats, including school shootings, in our community. We want to reassure the public that we take every threat seriously and conduct thorough investigations. Currently, Montgomery County law enforcement agencies are actively coordinating with the administration of private schools and the Conroe, Montgomery, Willis, New Caney, Splendora, and Magnolia Independent School Districts, as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. No credible threats have been identified, and there are no known active threats. We remain vigilant and will continue to monitor these reports and investigate to ensure the safety of our schools and community. Our patrol division, Willis School resource unit, homeland security division, and real-time crime center are actively aware of the increase of these alleged threats and are working diligently to investigate and keep our schools safe. We encourage parents, students, and community members to remain calm and report any suspicious activity directly to law enforcement. The safety of our children and residents is our top priority, and we are committed to keeping Montgomery County safe.
What to Do:
- Notify law enforcement immediately if you see or hear of any potential threats.
- Students can report suspicious activity to school educators or through programs like Kid Chat, Multi-County Crime Stoppers, or Anonymous Alerts.
- Verify information by following local public safety social media accounts before reacting or sharing. - Report known individuals to law enforcement who are making threats, as these actions have serious consequences.
- Parents, talk to your kids about this issue and have open lines of communication regarding social media safety and what to do if they see something threatening.

What Not to Do:
- Do not share posts or screenshots of potential threats. This can escalate fear and spread misinformation. Many threats are being reshared across multiple social media platforms, both from in-state and out-of-state sources
- Avoid engaging with anonymous or newly created accounts that may be posting threats. These could be attempts to cause panic or confusion.
