Montgomery County Food Bank’s Annual Gala Returns Feb. 8 to Fight Hunger and Feed Hope for Thousands in Need
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank is proud to announce its annual Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala, set for Saturday, February 8, 2025, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel. Huntsman Corporation serves as the Presenting Sponsor, providing essential support to help the Food Bank in its mission to unite the community to fight hunger. As the Food Bank's signature fundraising event, the gala offers the community a vital opportunity to support local families, children, and seniors facing hunger. Every dollar raised provides up to four meals for those in need in Montgomery County.
This year’s gala, titled A Ruby Celebration: 40 Years of Feeding Hope, draws inspiration from the ruby—a symbol of 40th anniversaries—to celebrate Montgomery County Food Bank’s remarkable four-decade journey. Founded by Betty Hardy in 1985, when she served neighbors in need from the trunk of her car, the Food Bank has grown to support more than 90,000 client contacts each month. This milestone event will also highlight the recent expansion project, including the new Produce Rescue Center, which allows the Food Bank to provide an additional one million meals annually. Guests are invited to dress in formal attire for an unforgettable evening kicking off gala season, featuring a silent and live auction with exciting packages, a 'Support a Need' segment to fund crucial programs, and special recognition of community partners whose dedication has been vital in the fight against hunger. Honorees will be announced soon.
The Food Bank is pleased to announce that Justin Kendrick, Senior Vice President and CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, and a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors, will serve as the Honorary Chair of this year’s gala. Kendrick, who has a decade of leadership experience within the Memorial Hermann Health System and a strong commitment to community service, brings invaluable expertise and passion to this event. A resident of The Woodlands, Kendrick’s involvement reflects his dedication to fighting hunger and supporting local families in need.
Angela Storseth-Cooper, Senior Director of Government Relations & Public Policy at The US Oncology Network and a member of the Food Bank’s Board of Directors, serves as Gala Chair. Leading the Gala Committee, Angela helps guide the event’s planning and implementation to create a memorable and impactful celebration.
“As the need for hunger relief continues to grow in our community, this is our opportunity to unite and make a lasting difference,” said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. “I invite our neighbors, businesses, and organizations to join us at this year’s gala to help ensure that everyone in Montgomery County has access to sufficient, nutritious food. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient community—one meal, one family at a time.”
