THE WOODLANDS, TX – Welcome to Monday, January 20, 2025. It seems as if an entire month’s worth of holidays has been crammed into this one day. Right off the bat, it’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday first commemorated in 1983 and recognized in all 50 states since 2000. For obvious reasons, the date coincides with Civil Rights Day. Since it's a federal holiday, expect many offices and businesses to be closed or with limited hours or personnel. School is definitely out.

Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Inauguration Day, and literally Blue Monday. Here’s how to observe it!

Next, it’s Inauguration Day for ‘47’ as Donald Trump is for the second and last time sworn in as the President of the United States. Love, hate, or indifference doesn’t take away from the historical aspect of this event.

It may surprise you to know that it’s also Blue Monday, an actual noted date as being the ‘saddest of the year’ due to it typically being the first post-holidays date where bills are opened and resolutions are broken.

While these three days might be enough to stand out, we shouldn’t forget that it’s also Elementary School Teacher Day, National Cheese Lover’s Day, Camcorder Day, and National Penguin Day.

With all of these to celebrate, commemorate, or commiserate, here are some things you can do to celebrate the day.
