As February slowly meanders into March, the weather is deciding to keep things moderate and relatively dry, so that you can enjoy events indoors and out this week. Check out this list of some of our favorites!

Monday, February 24
Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy is offering an Informational Meeting and Tours to educate parents looking to better enhance their children’s education. Come to the school at 6 p.m. to learn more about how to become a Legacy Lion for the 2025 - 2026 school year. Tours are offered before and after the meeting at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

This is a fantastic opportunity for shooters to sharpen their skills and connect with fellow enthusiasts in a competitive yet enjoyable setting. With CZ-USA sponsoring the event, participants will have the chance to compete using high-quality firearms provided by the CZ-USA representative. Shooters will take on an eight-stage steel target match, making for an exciting and challenging experience. Shadow Puppet Theatre at The Woodlands Children’s Museum presents ‘Dinosaur Mardi Gras’ by Dianne de Las Casas at 11 a.m. Some very hip dinosaurs join in the celebration during carnival time in New Orleans. Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older. Shadow Puppet Theatre is an introduction to storytelling elements that allow readers and audience to interact directly with each other.

Friday, February 28
Join Children’s Safe Harbor for their second annual Sporting Clay Tournament, a fundraising event dedicated to supporting child victims of abuse and trauma. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Blackwood Sporting in Conroe. The tournament will include 72 birds, three boxes of shells, lunch, dinner, drinks, and a silent auction. Teams of four can register for $500, and individual tickets are available for $125. Participation is limited to 100 shooters.

This cherished tradition, which began in 1999 to celebrate The Woodlands' 25th anniversary, continues to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions have significantly impacted our community. The 2025 Hometown Heroes include four exceptional individuals, one nonprofit and one corporate honoree, each selected for their lasting contributions to The Woodlands. These honorees will officially join 170 other distinguished individuals, businesses, and organizations as part of this prestigious legacy. They will be celebrated at the 2025 Celebration of Excellence Gala, presented by Woodforest National Bank, happening tonight. The 2025 Hometown Heroes are Cathy Brady, Jim Rapp, Jim Wendt, Nick Wolda, Truluck’s The Woodlands, and YES to YOUTH.

The Legacy Capital Woodlands Marathon is a Boston Qualifier and one of the fastest courses in the nation, with nearly 12% of marathon participants qualifying for the Boston Marathon. The event includes a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 2K Fun Run, all winding through the streets of Town Center and the surrounding community on a mostly flat course, culminating with a scenic finish along The Woodlands Waterway.

Concert in the Park is a popular family tradition of music and fun for all ages! Tonight, Party On! takes the stage and they’ll definitely live up to their name. Swing by The Woodlands Township tent for a giveaway that will spark your child’s joy and appreciation for music. Concerts are free to attend. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Glass prohibited. All entertainment is subject to change.
