MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Across the nation, more than 5,000 lives are tragically lost to choking incidents every year. Shockingly, statistics reveal that one child succumbs to choking every five days, causing choking to be the fourth leading cause of death among preschoolers. In a proactive effort to combat this alarming trend, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is proudly uniting with over 800 fire and police departments to introduce LifeVac rescue suction devices.

LifeVacs are revolutionary non-invasive airway clearance tools, credited with more than 2,100 documented clinical reports of saving lives from choking incidents. Over the upcoming month, every patrol deputy will receive training and be equipped with a LifeVac, ensuring that each patrol vehicle is prepared for any unforeseen emergency that they respond to.

With LifeVacs already making a profound impact in medical facilities, schools, and nursing homes, the incorporation of these life-saving devices into our department emphasizes our unwavering dedication to safeguarding the members of our community.
